Early in 2021, we were commissioned for a refurbishment and extension of a traditional Mallorcan house near Andratx. The project unfolded on two levels:

First, we conceived a space plan that anticipated future (and varied) family constellations by restructuring the existing house and adding a studio with a garage. Second, the landscape concept envisioned as many rooms outdoors as indoors, allowing all domestic activities to also happen outside during the warmer months.

The final proposal sees a project where traditional and contemporary shapes are synthesized by the use of local materials and techniques, such as pine and the marés. Different parties can co-inhabit while maintaining relative independence, making family holidays more enjoyable.
