WAX is located at 96 Rue d’Hauteville in the ground floor of a Haussmannian building from 1865 and overlooks the Église Saint-Vincent-de-Paul.

Conceptually we combine two contradictory notions: an inward-looking space for listening with an extroverted arrangement that encourages social interactions.

A large column bisects the main room, allowing the smaller back room to better participate in the overall atmosphere by creating the illusion of blending both spaces together.

The mixologist’s movements are preceived as a shadow projecting from the softbox lighting, making the cocktails part of the visual experience.

Since opening its doors in autumn of 2023, the bar has hosted numerous genre nights, live music gigs, private gatherings and open-deck nights next to its usual serving of fine music and cocktails.

We developed bespoke lamps for this project: the OO.1 wall-mounted luminaire and the OO.2 table lamp.
